Dr. Shamik Tiwari is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and innovator in Computer Science with over two decades of experience spanning research, teaching, academic administration, and institution building. He is recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University for three consecutive years (2023–2025) in Artificial Intelligence and is a recipient of the Academic Leadership Award at the 10th Higher Education Innovation & Technology Summit & Awards 2025.
As the Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering at IILM University, Gurugram, he has led the creation of a scalable, future-ready academic ecosystem through strategic academic structuring, capacity building, and ecosystem development. He pioneered interdisciplinary program clusters supported by faculty recruitment, mentoring, and leadership development, ensuring academic depth and long-term sustainability. His GEO-inspired model emphasizing Global exposure, Experiential learning, and Outcome-driven education has driven continuous curriculum renewal aligned with national reforms and global standards, enabling sustained institutional growth.
Dr. Tiwari has significantly strengthened incubation, innovation, and applied research, promoting entrepreneurship and translational outcomes. His research contributions include extensive publications, patents, and funded projects, notably a BIRAC-supported non-invasive AI-based diagnostic system for diabetic retinopathy. His expertise spans Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, NLP, Computer Vision, and Data Visualization, with impactful applications in healthcare.
He has held key academic and leadership roles at UPES Dehradun, Mody University, and the Sharda Group of Institutions, and has contributed extensively to accreditation and ranking frameworks including NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and ABET. He has established strong industry collaborations with global organizations such as IBM, Microsoft, AWS, Intel, EY, and others, enabling research, certifications, and experiential learning.
Dr. Tiwari also serves as an Adjunct Faculty and Research Supervisor in an international Data Science program in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He is actively engaged with professional bodies, serves as editor and reviewer for reputed journals, and is a Fellow of the CPRG AI Fellowship, contributing to AI-driven policy and governance initiatives.
